Kong Ming Lantern (Sky Lantern)

I have heard alot about Kong Ming Lantern (Sky Lantern) and it is quite popular in Taiwan. Some people write their wishes on the Lantern and then they set it up into the sky, believing that their wishes will come true. During the last Chinese New Year, I finally got the chance to 'play' with one in Malaysia. (I think it's illegal to set one in Singapore.)

My husband's brother bought many Sky Lantern so that the children can get to play with it. I quickly wrote all our wishes on the lantern before the children set the lantern into the sky. The first lantern did not managed to 'fly' into the sky, but all the subsequent ones did.

It was so cool to see the lanterns with our wishes drifting slowly into the sky. Everyone cheered as the lanterns moved higher and higher and slowly disappearing into the horizon. May our wishes come true!

The above picture was taken from the internet (Wikipedia). Isn't it a glorious sight to see hundreds of Sky Lantern drifting into the sky?
