Use a Water Bottle
Why spent money to buy mineral water in Singapore? Most of the plastic water bottles are not recycled, so we are harming the environment. Even if you try to reduce your guilt by reusing the bottles, you may be affecting your health. Most of the plastic water bottles are not meant to be reused.
Buy a good water bottle instead and fill from the water coolers.

Rejection
I just prefer to talk straight to the point instead of beating around the bush.
At least, you are showing the real you, stop being a hypocrite!

New Generation Parenting
Please don't be like this!
As parents, it is our job to raise our children. Spent quality time with them and teach them to appreciate life, so that they will grow up to contribute to the society and find happiness instead of chasing the monetary rewards.

Stretching Exercises
Some simple exercises that we can do in between work. Relaxing the muscles will help prevent stiff muscles.
Practice doesn't make perfect
There are times when trying, no matter how many times, is unsuccessful.
Maybe, you have been using the wrong technique or the wrong equipment...
Sometimes, we just need to stop and move on, to come back at another time to try it again.

Bold Voice
Not many people are daring enough to have their own voice.
At the same time, not many people are daring to listen to the bold voice.

A Car Accident
I was just talking to my husband from the front seat when we felt a strong jerk and heard a loud bang. The car behind us had bumped into our car. Luckily, none of my children were injured.
My husband got out of the car to find out what exactly had happened. There was another car behind the car which had bumped into us, the culprit driver. He was drunk! My husband called for the police. Before the police arrived, that drunk driver drove away.

I took this opportunity to reinforce the importance of buckling the seat belt. My younger son truly remembered this - as we boarded a taxi to get home, he was the first one to buckle up.

The Value of Outdoor Teaching
I would love to bring my students outdoor for my teaching some times. Thus far, I have only manged to do so with one class without any big hassle. The students were discipline and ready to listen to the instructions. They were on tasks and I don't have to worry too much about them running 'wild'. At the end of the day, the lesson was accomplished and very often we learnt something more than expected. I got to see things from the students' perspectives and learnt alot from them in return.
Unfortunately, I don't have this 'luxury' these few years. The students came in with different agenda and discipline is a big issue. Being worried about the students' safety is one big factor. And very often, students were not on task. At the end of the day, the tasks were not completed, time wasted and everyone was frustrated.
Hopefully, I can manage them better and motivate them to follow my directions. The article below talks about the value of outdoor teaching and how it can motivate students to learn better.

I Was Raised!
I was raised by my parents. I was taught to say "Please", "Thank you" and "Sorry". These magic words go a long way...
Don't forget to teach these magic words to the next generation.

Being Difficult
It's always difficult to start something. Once started, some things becomes easy.
When it's difficult, it just means you have to find other ways to make things work.
Lego Workshop
I am glad that I went for this Lego workshop. What can be so special about a Lego workshop? I was not told what to expect from this workshop...
We were told to think of a cartoon character and to draw it on a graph paper. My initial thought was to do something really simple - Spongebob! Everything is squarish - should be easy to handle.
From the picture I took using my mobile phone, here comes my draft.
If you looked carefully, you will realize that my Spongebob is not smiling. I supposed that it will be easier to make the 2D Lego mosaic in the end.
Below is my final product, see - it's smiling again. That was because I have plenty of time left after finishing my Spongbob with a sad face.

Not bad for the first try. I'm looking forward to make Smurfs!!
Multiple Intelligences
It is so interesting to see this article on Facebook. In fact, you heard about this all the time in school, especially when we talked about differentiate learning. How many people have confused themselves with multiple intelligence and learning styles?

Understanding Math
Math is a very interesting subject for those who can see Math in their everyday life. For those who can't, Math questions may be difficult to understand, what's more, to solve.
As a teacher, I like to tell my students to see the Math in their everyday life. If you can see Math this way, it will no longer be a problem but a beauty.
Let's just start with something simple. Your heartbeat. How many times does you heart beat in a minute? Already that's Math. Without your heartbeat, you are dead. Since you are alive, you need to wake up. What time do you wake up everyday? How long have you slept? How much toothbpaste you used? How much food and drink you take? What is the distance you travel to get to your destination? How much money did you spent? Is the food serving enough? All these are also Math. Because we have taken all these things for granted, we don't see the Math in them anymore.
As a parent, it is important not to send the message that Math is something difficult. Take time to teach the children to see the Math in their everyday life.
